A classic egg-in-a-hole made with BFree oat bread, cooked in olive oil and seasoned with garlic, paprika and sea salt. Simple, satisfying and naturally gluten-free and dairy-free.
- Yield: 1 Serving
- Prep time: 2 Minutes | Cook time: 5 Minutes
Chef’s Note: For a runny yolk, cover the pan briefly with a lid after adding the egg to gently steam the top. Let kids use a cookie cutter to punch out fun shapes from the bread!
1 slice BFree oat bread
1 large egg
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dehydrated garlic
Pinch of paprika
Cut the hole: Use a small round cutter or the rim of a glass to cut a circle from the center of the bread. Set both the bread slice and the cut-out circle aside.
Toast the bread: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the bread slice into the pan and toast for 1-2 minutes until golden on the bottom.
Add the egg and season: Flip the bread. Crack the egg directly into the hole. Season with salt, pepper, dehydrated garlic and paprika. Place the bread cut-out in the pan alongside to toast.
Cook to your liking: Cook for 2-3 minutes until the egg white is set and the yolk is cooked to your liking. For a runny yolk, cover with a lid for 1 minute. For fully set, cook uncovered a little longer.
Serve: Slide onto a plate, top with the toasted bread cut-out and serve immediately. Optional, but it’s always fun to toast the cut out piece of bread for extra texture!

Best gf wraps! Recently needed to go gluten free and these wraps are the best I’ve tried, they’re soft and thin and taste like regular wraps. Definitely recommend!

Amazing GF wraps! We used these for beef quesadillas and they were delicious! I cooked the quesadillas a pan for a few mins on each side and they held their shape when folded. My husband (who isn’t GF) said he wouldn’t have known the difference, which is a big compliment from him because he rarely says that about anything GF!

I just tried the new BFree Oat Loaf and was so pleasantly surprised. It is the first bread I have had in the 10 years of being Celiac that actually taste like real bread. The crust is tender and the chew is very nice. I ate a turkey sandwich without toasting or warming it. This bread is amazing. Then I tried it as toast with butter and was just as happy. This is my new favorite bread. It’s actually my favorite bread because other breads have only been tolerable 😄
